The CYL San Diego (CYLSD) league office oversees the backend operations of all of the teams including recruitment and hiring of coaches, communications with players & coaches, organization of schedule & fields, uniforms & equipment ordering, insurance, referee coordination, website updating, and prizes. [back to top] About Adrenaline, CYL, and CYL Foundation Adrenaline has office and warehouse space located at 4060 Morena Blvd, Suite L, San Diego, CA 92117. From these offices they run the commercial South Swell store management and inventory, Adrenaline for profit camps, as well as the CYL. They have a small marketing dept. and several full time staffers to manage their operations, and it is a professionally run operation. The CYL side promotes, organizes and runs youth lacrosse leagues for 8 areas (see game locations below). The CYL 1st - 6th grade teams are run entirely by Adrenaline, and not through the San Diego County Lacrosse Association (SDCLA). The 7-8th grade teams are run through SDCLA, meaning that SDCLA schedules the refs, fields and game schedules (just like it has been for TTYLC). CYL pays for referees, scheduling, insurance, coaches, and field usage. The CYL Foundation is a non-profit organization whose 501c3 filing is currently in process. The CYL Foundation is dedicated to the missions stated below: - Spreading the game of lacrosse through free demonstration, PE curriculum, and seminars.
- Educating new players about playing opportunities within their lacrosse community.
- Providing scholarships to attend camps, clinics, tournaments and other such programs.
- Providing cheap rental equipment to use for such camps and league opportunities in each area.
- The CYL Foundation is donation driven and powered. To be a donor to this great cause please contact

[back to top] About SDCLA The San Diego County Lacrosse Association provides schedules, events, and news for middle school lacrosse in San Diego County. The league consists of 53 teams in two divisions. Division I is for players in grades 6-8 and Division III is for players in grades 5-7. League play is from mid-March through early June. Each SDCLA team administers its own player registration. [back to top] TTYLC Board For the Spring 2009 season, the TTYLC board would continue to operate and provide guidance to Adrenaline throughout the season for the Titans and to continue to work through the open items, such as equipment. Adrenaline welcomes TTYLC’s involvement. [back to top] Websites TTYLC’s website will still be in effect, informing players of the “Powered by Adrenaline” status and directing them to Adrenaline’s website. Adrenaline’s main site and San Diego sites are, respectively: http://adrenalinelacrosse.com/californiayouthlacrosse/index.html http://www.eteamz.com/CYLSD/ [back to top] Coaching Coaching will be staffed through Adrenaline. [back to top] Registration Registration is all online, including medical releases, waivers, etc. Registration typically starts in November, and is a simple one-stop process with only one fee to pay. All players register through the CYL office and players are placed onto area specific teams based on their school and address. Their information is forwarded onto the coach who contacts players before the season begins. Additionally players will receive notifications from the league office with further details. [back to top] Team Selection Players are assigned to teams based on their grade level. 1st through 6th graders will be assigned to CYL Tierrasanta teams (e.g., Titan1-2, Titans3-4, and Titans5-6). 7th and 8th grade players will be assigned to San Diego County Lacrosse Association (SDCLA) based teams (Titans7-8), run by Adrenaline. All teams will have A and B teams potentially available depending upon the number of players registered. [back to top] Team Scheduling For the Titans grades 1-6 teams, CYLSD provides game scheduling, locations and referees. For the Titans7-8 teams, game scheduling, locations and referees are provided by SDCLA, but are coordinated with Adrenaline. [back to top] Team Practices, Locations & Dates All Titans teams will have a minimum of 3 practices per week at the Tierrasanta Recreation Center fields, with practices running 1.5 to 2 hours each. Practices will start mid-February after school. Specific practice days and times will be determined by coaches’ availability. [back to top] Game Locations & Dates The lacrosse season runs mid-February through early June, with games starting in March. CYL games are played on Sundays, and will be played in three general areas: Encinitas/Carlsbad, Coronado, and Carmel Valley. Titans1-6 teams will play other CYL teams such as: Carlsbad Carmel Valley Coronado Encinitas La Jolla Point Loma Rancho Santa Fe
Titans7-8 teams will play other SDCLA based teams, according to the schedule that SDCLA provides, which has included weekday and weekend games. The SDCLA teams the Titans D1A & D1B teams played last year included: Alpine Bonita Vista Carlsbad Cathedral Coronado Fallbrook Francis Parker La Jolla Lakeside Maranatha Penasquitos Rancho Bernardo San Carlos Scripps Ranch Sweetwater Valley Center
CYL will work with SDCLA to ensure no game overlaps between Titans1-6 and Titans7-8. [back to top] Loaner Gear Adrenaline also provides loaner gear. [back to top] Playing Time It is the goal of both TTYLC and Adrenaline to ensure balanced playing time during games. Adrenaline tries to have A & B teams at each level respectively so that this issue is minimized. [back to top] Insurance The CYL registration fees include player insurance, either directly through CYL or via US Lacrosse membership, if required for the SDCLA-based Titans7-8 players. [back to top] Fees & What’s Included Titans registration fees would be $225 for the Spring 2009 season. This is the same amount at TTYLC would be charging. The primary reason for the fee increase is due to the need to pay for coaching and new team jerseys. Registration fees for CYL teams have typically been around $300, and Titans reg fees would be headed towards a sustainable CYL club level pricing. TTYLC would work with CYL to keep the Titans reg fees as low as possible for post-2009 seasons. Adrenaline registration includes: Game Jerseys, Game Shorts, Socks, Practice Jersey, Helmet Stickers Top quality coaches with NCAA lacrosse experience FBI background checks performed on all CYL coaches Quality game fields 100 hours of lacrosse!! 12 regular season game schedule 2 or 3 playoff game schedule (CYL only; not SDCLA) 48, 1.5 hour weekly practices 14 pregame practices Team photo Sanctioned referees for safety Team specific awards Championship prizes provided by Adrenaline Clothing & Warrior Lacrosse
[back to top] Scholarships Adrenaline offers need-based scholarships via an online application form. Scholarships can be in full or on a sliding scale depending upon need. Scholarship applications should be submitted first online, and Adrenaline will then determine the scholarship level, providing a “Scholarship code” that would then be applied during the online registration process. It is Adrenaline’s and TTYLC’s goal that all interested players have a chance to play. [back to top] Spirit Gear TTYLC will retain ownership and possession of all current spirit gear, and will continue to sell it directly, with proceeds going back to TTYLC, until such time as the majority of the spirit gear is gone. CYL’s Tierrasanta team-specific website will have a link back to TTYLC’s Spirit Gear page. [back to top] Parent Support – Scorekeepers, Time keepers The Adrenaline teams utilize parents for team parent, scorekeepers and timekeepers. [back to top] Field Maintenance CYL would provide field maintenance for the Serra game field, which typically means lining the field as needed. [back to top] Field Allocation For the 2009 season, a TTYLC board member will continue to represent Tierrasanta youth lacrosse at the Tierrasanta Recreation Center monthly meetings, which determine field allocation. [back to top] Fall Clinics / January Clinic TTYLC would still hold free Saturday clinics in the fall, preferably with staffing support from Adrenaline. The current Fall 2008 Clinics will continue as is with lead coaching provided by Coach Craig Johnson. Typically Adrenaline holds clinics in January, and hopes to offer a free clinic in Tierrasanta in January 2009, provided TTYLC can obtain field usage for this Saturday clinic. This is a great way for TTYLC players to meet the new Adrenaline coaches. [back to top]
